This week’s picture of the week theme was frame. At first, I had great intentions of taking different outdoor pictures framed by an actual frame. That idea went down the gutter after 3 days of torrential down-pours prevented any outdoor camera activity. Then I remembered Dusty will make any picture amazing :)…
On my way home from work I stopped by Michael’s crafts, and purchased a large frame. Perhaps too large, in hindsight, but it worked. Side note: if you happen to be wanting a frame any time soon, it’s a good place to go… the 16 x 24″ frame was only $15!
This was my initial lighting setup for my frame picture. It’s actually a mistaken shot as a result of accidentally unzooming, but interesting to see the equipment used :). At this point, I was just positioning the light into place. Dusty is completely oblivious to what will come…Ok. In fairness, he was pretty much oblivious even after tossing a giant wood torture device (Loki’s thoughts) around him. He WAS a little nervous, but put up with it as long as I let him have his tennis ball.Seriously. Taking pictures of Dusty is ridiculously easy. I should add that for each ‘Frame’ picture, I carefully positioned Dusty into position, told him to stay. He politely obliged even while I tripped over furniture, re-adjusted lighting, and took multiple snap shots.In fairness, Loki did his part, too. It took a little coaxing, but throw a little food in the mix and even Loki will put up with a photographer’s whims :).This idea was my favorite. Again, I cannot emphasize how amazing Dusty is to photograph. I was able to position his paws, get him to hold the frame upright, and maintain position long enough to take multiple exposures!I love this picture! I think these last 2 pictures are my favorites of the POTW themes so far! It was a toss up between this & the next for my actual POTW selection.The placement of the tennis ball, combined with Dusty’s smile, made this the ultimate winner for me. The placement of the tennis ball was all Dusty.
